The Alumni Association presents The St. Andrew's Scholarship to two graduating seniors (one man and one woman) each June.
The St. Andrew's Scholarship is named for the patron saint of Scotland. In 832 AD, King Angus MacFergus lead his army against foreign invaders. The night before the battle, Angus prayed to St. Andrew for strength. According to legend, a silvery cross appeared in the sky as the Scots marched onto the field and were victorious. Since then, the spirit of St. Andrew continues to inspire Highlanders everywhere.
Applicants for the Scholarship are evaluated on the basis of school activities, vocational goals, grade point average and recommendations. The application for our scholarship can be downloaded here and submitted to the LHHS counseling office. The St. Andrew's Scholarships are presented in June of each year as part of Senior Awards Night at LHHS.
